Scotland's Famous Tartan Army Trains for Paris Euro International November 17, 2006 - Scotland's Tartan Army is travelling from Glasgow to Paris, return, by charter Trains & Eurostar to the Scotland v. France international football match in Paris on 12th September 2007. Scotland is currently top of their Euro 2008 Qualifiers group, which includes France, Italy & Ukraine. The Famous Tartan Army Magazine requires a charter Train from Glasgow's Central Station to travel overnight on 10th September, 2007 direct to Waterloo Station in London. The 680 passengers will then board 2 consecutive Eurostar services from Waterloo for Paris. The return is on 13th September. John Tannock from The Famous Tartan Army Magazine has assembled the travel & hotel offering for the readers. He told Train Chartering that fans wanted a change from air travel. He expects a great atmosphere on board the Trains on the way to this important match. The environment also benefits. The return journey by air would release around 367kgs CO2 per passenger, which compares with 127kgs by train (based on The National Energy Foundation's CO2 calculator). Simon Pielow from Train Chartering says "Train Chartering contributes once again to the new age of rail. Glasgow to Paris with one change of train for this large group is great for the organiser, the fans and the environment." Train Chartering (www.trainchartering.com) is the pioneer of a coordinated approach to sourcing, theming and crewing special trains for large group travel, corporate & private events, film locations & airport or cruise liner transfers.
